Position Details:

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced CVICU Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our cardiovascular team. This provider will play a critical role in managing the complex care of pre- and post-operative cardiac patients, working in a fast-paced, high-acuity CVICU setting.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily rounding in the ICU, managing the care of patients pre- and post-cardiac surgery, including those who have undergone open-heart procedures, VATS, and various lung surgeries.
• Oversee the transition of patients coming off ventilators, monitoring and managing their stability.
• Collaborate with the CVICU team and work under the supervision of a CVT Physician.
• Provide continuity of care for a service that typically manages 20-25 patients, with support from an additional APP.
• Position Highlights:
• High-Acuity Patient Care: Manage complex cases in a CVICU environment, providing specialized care to patients in critical phases of cardiac recovery.
• Collaborative Team Environment: Work closely with CVICU nursing and physician teams, as well as another APP for shared patient load.
• Comprehensive CVICU Support: Access to standard CVICU resources, including respiratory and cardiac support, to aid in high-quality patient management.
• Requirements:
• Active Texas state license, DEA certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Fellowship in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic care preferred.
• This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CVICU APP to contribute meaningfully in a highly specialized, patient-centered environment.
